Matt 7: 21-23, the words of Jesus our Lord and Saviour.
21 "Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.
22 Many will say to me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?'
23 Then I will tell them plainly, 'I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!'
After coming across this passage in camp it really hit me hard. Been pondering on this issue for quite a few months now, since VQ started the bible study group with us. It's always been "yes, I will do it. i mean, i go to church every week, serve here and there, blah blah blah..." but it's like it's never been real. Lost touch with my Father for quite a while already, and I want to come back to Him. I need to really, seriously, surrender everything in my life to Him and start living a Christ-centered life.
These are private thoughts but I won't be locking this post because I want EVERYONE who reads this to know and accept the good news too. Just as I got scared for myself, I got scared for my friends too. Many call themselves Christians/people who do good things, but no one except God knows in each of our hearts whether we truly believe and have accepted Jesus as our Saviour. I even have 'Christian' friends in school who have such unChristian-like beliefs and behaviour, that makes me sad. Or worse, you think you've been a good Christian but actually never really had a real relationship with God but don't know it. To everyone reading this...when Judgement Day comes, do you want to stand at the gates of Heaven expecting to be let in but finally hearing those dreaded words from Jesus: "I never knew you"? I'm sure no one wants that. So if we don't want that, let us really give up everything we have in our lives; all our earthly possessions and luxuries which do not last, and start living a life that is pleasing and glorifying to our Maker.
